A person rear ended me on a Friday afternoon. Little did I know that wouldn't be the worse thing that would happen to me. Dealing with SGIO "customer service" is far worse.
Happy to take Australian money for no service. They have no call centres in Australia. Trying to get claims actioned are a nightmare. So stressful!
Definitely do not recommend for home insurance. Had storm damage and they flatly refused to cover on little or no grounds. Horrible claims department. Dismissive and argumentative. Will not answer emails. I have been a loyal customer and had everything insured with them including cars, trailer and little boat. I am now pulling it all out. Good riddance!!
Very pushy trying to send me to their '''preferred" car repairer saying they won't guarantee any other work. This is simply not true and I felt bullied. Found another shop who offeres lifetime warranty outside SGIOs network. I do have a choice of repairer, you know? Will switch to different provider.
Made my first insurance claim after 9yrs of being with SGIO. Very positive experience, staff easy to understand and kept in contact throughout the entire process. SGIO call center rep spoke clear English - very personable and easy to deal with. Great experience.
