I used to come here frequently, very nice satisfying vegetarian Indian food, run by volunteers, with an incredible view. Come just before sunset if you can, get a table outside.Edit 19/09/18 just went here again last night after a long hiatus. The food was nice but cold, and couldn't taste any spice at all. Also I got very bad stomach upset next morning, so I would say probably because the food was cold and not reheated properly. Please please check this for food safety!
Excellent food for a donation the mixed vegetable curry is yum my favourite and the donation for the food go to a good charities.Love the fact it is vegetarian. I believe it matches the spirit of altruism. Well cooked food + various & nutritive. Friendly staff :)
The food was okay. It was more about the experience than the food. It is inspiring to see how this restaurant is run by volunteers. Be prepared that you will be eating with some of the homeless. I will admit that I didn't feel most at ease at first because this is not a typical setting but I'm glad a place like this exists, out of the goodwill of people and you contribute what you are able to. Nothing to worry about, people just there to have a hot meal with comfy chairs.I liked the vegetable curry and the spicy soup. Saw a few dolphins from the balcony too.
Love the food and definitely good value for money. I went there last night and this tip is for the owners.I saw two families eat and then skip out past the toilets without paying. I only noticed as that particular family jumped the queue in front of us after coming out of the elevator.The restaurant owners are already generous with their philosophy and don't need cheap skates that CAN AFFORD TO PAY not paying just because they are scum. I would block that side off as you're losing money unnecessarily and then you can afford to help the homeless more. Other than that, lovely location and a great ambience out on the balcony.
Best place to grab dinner in the city of Perth in my opinion. It's a 'pay what you think the food is worth' kind of place. Vegetarian menu with communal tables. The view is spectacular. All proceeds go towards social and economic welfare. A definite must if you are in Perth.
